Tuition
Most of our tuition is one-to-one tuition in our
office, which enables us to adjust the focus across various topics according to students’ individual knowledge, experience, and areas of interest. However, we can sometimes accommodate small groups of students who are at a similar stage in their training, with the agreement of all participants.
We do NOT schedule specific courses on pre-defined dates. All tuition dates are tailored according to the availability of our students and our instructors.

I cannot recommend the team at Tags the aviation ground school highly enough. Mark has been my instructor for all of my ground school exams and I didn’t miss a step, I have just recently just taken my radio practical test which I passed with a high proficiency and this is all down to John my instructor, not only him but the rest of the team at Tags really went above and beyond to support me through this process I live over an hour away but with lesson online really made the difference a fantastic team and a great teaching methodology if I could give them 10 Stars I would, look no further than Tags Aviation Ground School.

I completed all of my PPL theory exams and the FRTOL exam at TAGS. John, Tim and Jock have been fantastic tutors and go above and beyond to help you understand each subject. They will give you the knowledge needed to be a safe pilot, and not just what is needed to pass the exams. I think it's well worth the money, and I will surely be back if I decide to do an IMC in the future. Shout out to Sharon as well who works in the background.

Excellent ground school company, very highly recommend. They cater for you needs and the tuition is of an excellent standard. I have just completed my FRTOL licence and cannot thank the team at TAGS enough for all of their help throughout. The materials that are sent to you are the best out there for the FRTOL.
A great, memorable experience with The Aviation Ground School. I completed all my theory exams and the flight radio telephony exam with them. The process was smooth, professional and very supportive.
Starting my pilot training, I was really worried about the theory, but The Aviation Ground School (TAGS) completely changed that for me. Their first module gave me the confidence I needed, and the team's incredible attention to detail and personalized learning helped me pass all my exams. They made a challenging process genuinely enjoyable.
Wonderful experience and friendly people, I did my FRTOL training here, the tuition gets you very well prepared for the test and John my instructor in particular is really great, thoroughly recommend to anybody for the radio licence, they do PPL theories too for those wondering :)
John did an amazing job preparing me for the FRTOL exam. The tutoring sessions are well paced and super informative going through various scenarios to get you up to speed!
Enjoyed every part of the TAGS process, the instructors are helpful, knowledgeable and always available for questions. I work odd hours and they always made time to accommodate weekends and nights - highly recommended for the complete Ground School syllabus.

I recently completed all the ‘ground’ exams for my PPL with TAGS and I can’t recommend John and the team enough! The tuition is tailored to individuals and delivered in an engaging and enjoyable format. You’re not just taught how to pass the exams, but also elements to make you a better and safer pilot in general, using real life experiences and examples. I would happily recommend TAGS for all theoretical knowledge training.
Used TAGS for some of the PPL aviation theory exams, and most recently radio telephony training & exam (FRTOL). Definitely recommend them. It's found it really helpful to be taken through the content in a structured way. For FRTOL, the practice sessions and handbook provided was invaluable. All exams I've taken with TAG training passed first time.
TAGS are the best in the business when it comes to aviation ground schooling. Mark and John are extremely knowledgeable instructors that take their time to ensure you understand the content and become a safe pilot. They are also very friendly and more than happy to help you out with any aviation questions even after the course is done. The school runs small classes of 1-3 students which also makes it easy to ask questions and for the instructor to focus on each individual while you also get to meet other aviators.
I really enjoyed my training with TAGS. I completed 3 modules of my PPL training and my FRTOL licence. The format they use to train, face to face for the PPL and online for the RT worked perfectly for me and my learning style. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone going through their training, and i shall keep in touch to better myself for airmanship reasons. Thank you TAGS for getting me closer to completing my PPL.
I’ve been studying with TAGS since the start of the year for all of my PPL Groundschool studies, including for my FRTOL which I passed today! The quality of tuition is absolutely superb and they do their very best to make it engaging and interesting! The sessions are always very well prepared and the 1-to-1 tuition is great. I’m very happy with the results I’ve achieved and cannot thank you both enough!!
Great knowledge and expertise. Fantastic tuition. My R/T skills had improved greatly with just a few of the online classes helping me no end in the aircraft. A definite must for anyone doing ppl exams or R/T training. First time pass! Thanks TAGS.

I would highly recommend TAGS AVIATION GROUND SCHOOL. When completing the ppl theory exams mark was most helpful and accommodating. I then completed my FRTOL radio operational license and John was brilliant with talking me through different routes and radio process. Over all great guys providing a great service to student pilots any pilots. Would be quick to recommend to anyone 👍😊

I used TAGS to complete my FRTOL exam for my fixed wing PPL ground school examinations. All sessions could be conducted remotely at anti-social hours after work which I found very convenient. TAGS have put alot of effort into producing materials to make the remote sessions effective and John was a fantastic trainer that put you at ease and gets you into a good state ready for the FRTOL exam. They organised the examiner for me and I passed first time so they must be doing something right! Would highly recommend!
